You can make pancakes with cake mix. Made them up for my wife’s birthday. We can’t have cake tonight, so may as well have it for breakfast.

also, you can make cakes, or a cake of pancake mix in a rice cooker. It is the super lazy way to do it. You just mix it all up in there, push the button down, and it pops up when the cake is done.

Sometimes. I’ve done this a few times and it requires some tinkering and careful watching of the rice cooker, because I’ve had them come out both under- and over-cooked. But yes, it is a cool trick.

I did it with pancake batter, and I just made it a bit thick, and it turned out great. Good to know that it can screw up though.

Maybe it depends on the cooker, I have a very cheap Oster one. It worked perfect the first few times I used it. Now it burns the shit out of the bottom layer of rice.
